What about Dave??

On Thursday, October 1, 2009, David Letterman shocked many when he came clean about affairs that he had had with female staffers.  All of this, because an ex-staff member, Robert Halderman, threatened to go public with the allegations unless he was paid $2 Million dollars.  An accusation (and arrest) that attorney's for Halderman say is preposterous.

So, in order to keep it from leaking to the public David Letterman came clean on National TV about his affairs.  He stated the facts and went on to say he would no longer speak publicly about the details of his sexual relationships with staffers again.  However, on Monday Night, Letterman continued with divulging further information, informing his audience that his wife had been horribly hurt.  His revelations have been noticeably uncomfortable as it's hard to tell whether you are suppose to laugh or not, whether he's making light of his own situation or offering sincere emotion.

In a case like this, was it necessary for Dave to come clean before the details got out?  Is a public apology to his wife necessary?  Is this a private issue to be settled at home?  And while we are thinking about the mistresses, the extortionist, the wife...WHAT ABOUT DAVE??

Friends?? Weigh in...

Yes Dave needs to apologize in public, or acknowledge in public that he owed his wife an apology and that he he gave it to her.He doesn't need to get into anything more than that. The reason he needs to do so is because this whole incident was made public.

I am so over all these high profile affairs! People, here's a thought...STOP CHEATING! And if you do cheat, keep the details of that isht private! If you're the homewrecker, shame on you, especially if you decide to add extortionist to your already hoeish title. If you're the cheatin' dog, shame on you. You took vows and promises were broken, so don't laugh or try to justify or excuse your behavior. But do you both really have to compound the pain the wife has to deal with by then making it public? And to all the news people, QUIT PUBLICIZING it! People have affairs everyday. It's no longer newsworthy. Find something else to write about. I'm bored with watching the rich and famous make money off of their indiscretions.

I think this is why I could never be famous. I don't owe the American public a damn thing when it comes to my personal life. If Regina Lasko wants to work out the issues in her marriage-that is HER husband, that is HER marriage-for better or for worse. If she is able to forgive him, if he is able to forgive himself and move on on the RIGHT PATH, more power to him. But Hey Dave...I bet those ratings are top notch right now. Good for you.

And to the jumpoffs-Congrats on making a name for yourself. I'm sure there are little girls somewhere that say "When I grow up, I want to give up community service ass. I want a wife to get all the benefits, while I jump off for FREE." Maybe you can get a reality show: The Real Jumpoffs of USA. Call Kim from Real Housewives, Hef's chicks, SuperHead-Oh how THIS LIST could go on.

Everybody has issues. I'm not sure that if I was Dave's wife I would find his public admission noble. Hey Regina, Call up Vanessa Bryant...see if you can get yourself a $3 MIL "I cheated" ring. Might be worth the hassle.

Well, Dave, sorry. Looks like you get no sympathy from the friends. Best of luck in your future affairs, er um...endeavors.

At any rate:

So, let me get this straight. I'm supposed to care about yet ANOTHER 'celebrity' getting caught with their pants down... and somehow am supposed to feel sorry for him because someone thought the secret might be the new lottery ticket? Oh heylz naw!

Fact is this... Dave only came out because it might cost him less to expose the dirty details than it would to keep the secret. I betcha if dude only asked for $10 and a box of envelopes we'd have never heard of this crap. Don't tell me about any more of these "scandals" unless you've got video. Sorry Dave, but R Kelly and Paris Hilton set the bar for sex scandals much higher...
